5th Rabiul Awwal 1st Hijrat (622AD)

Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)’s migration from Mecca to Yathrib

The Hijrat of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from Mecca to Medina marks a pivotal event in Islamic history. Warned by Allah of a plot to kill him, the Prophet (pbuh) migrated, with Imam Ali (a.s.) bravely staying behind to protect him (pbuh) by sleeping in the Holy Prophet (pbuh)’s bed. The Prophet hid in the cave of Thaur for three days before reaching Quba, where he awaited Imam Ali (pbuh)’s arrival. Together, they entered Medina, where the Prophet(pbuh) established the first Islamic state. The Hijrat symbolizes sacrifice, faith, and the transition from ignorance to enlightenment, marking the beginning of the Islamic calendar.
