Which Mouse Cuts Off Man’s Connection with God?
Once, during a flight, I had an experience that left a deep impression on me. Just as I boarded the plane, the crew suddenly announced that all passengers must disembark, and all luggage must also be unloaded. At first, I thought there was a serious technical fault, but when I asked for the reason, they replied: “A mouse has entered the aircraft, and until we find it, the flight cannot depart.”
Surprised, I said: “All this delay for a single mouse?!”
The crew explained: “Yes, because if that mouse chews through even one thin wire, the pilot could lose communication with the control tower, and the lives of hundreds of people would be at risk.”
That response sparked a thought in my mind. I reflected: If a tiny mouse can endanger a massive aircraft, then what about the hidden ‘mice’ that creep into the human soul? Mice such as polytheism, hypocrisy, self-admiration, arrogance, love of power and position, lust, and worldliness. These subtle intruders quietly enter the human heart, and before one realizes it, they cut off his connection with God and spirituality, ultimately leading to his downfall.
That day I understood just as an airplane cannot survive without its connection to the control tower, a human being cannot remain safe without his connection to God. Without it, sooner or later, he will face confusion and spiritual collapse.
Lessons from This Preaching Experience
- Even the smallest negligence can lead to the greatest danger-just as a single mouse can threaten the fate of an entire flight.
- Our connection with God is the most vital lifeline of human existence, and we must guard it against anything that could sever it.
- Inner corruptions are more dangerous than external threats, for they creep in silently and drag a person from the heights of servitude to the depths of ruin.
