Prophet Musa (as), The Courage to Stand Before Tyranny
In a land ruled by fear, where Pharaoh claimed lordship over the people, a child was born whom Allah (swt) had chosen for a great mission. His name was Musa (as).
From his very first days, Musa’s life was wrapped in danger. Pharaoh had ordered the killing of newborn boys, yet Allah (swt) inspired Musa’s mother with courage. She placed her infant into a wooden chest and set him upon the river, trusting not the water, but the promise of her Lord. The river carried him to the very palace of Pharaoh, where the tyrant’s household raised the child destined to undo his power.
Years passed, and Musa (as) grew into a man of strength and conscience. One day, anger overcame him when he saw injustice, and a life was lost by his hand. Stricken with regret, Musa (as) fled Egypt, carrying with him repentance and humility. In exile, tending sheep in Midian, his heart softened. Power was replaced with patience, and haste with wisdom.
Then, on a quiet night near Mount Sinai, Musa (as) saw a fire. When he approached, a voice called him. It was Allah (swt), speaking to His servant. Musa (as) was chosen as a prophet. He was commanded to return to Pharaoh, not with weapons, but with truth. He trembled, yet Allah (swt) reassured him, and granted him signs, the staff that became a serpent, and the radiant hand.
Standing before Pharaoh, Musa (as) spoke words of tawhid to a man who worshipped himself. Pharaoh mocked him, threatened him, and unleashed oppression upon the believers. Still, Musa (as) stood firm. He trusted Allah (swt) even when the sea blocked his path and Pharaoh’s army closed in behind.
At Allah’s command, Musa (as) struck the sea with his staff. The waters parted, forming towering walls, and the oppressed walked to freedom. When Pharaoh followed, the sea closed upon him, and tyranny drowned in the very power it claimed to control.
Prophet Musa’s story is not only history. It is a reminder. That faith begins with trust. That standing for truth may be frightening, but Allah (swt) never abandons those who stand for Him. And that no Pharaoh, no matter how mighty, can prevail against divine justice.
For every believer facing injustice today, Musa (as) still whispers, walk forward. The sea will part.
