Specific Acts(A’amal) of Friday and its Night

Heavenly books

In the traditions of religious scholars, there are numerous recommended acts for Friday night. Here, we will mention some of them.

Prayer and Seeking Forgiveness for Believers: It is recommended to pray for fellow believers on Friday nights. Imam Sadiq (AS) narrates from Imam Hasan (AS):

Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest.

The recitation of Salawat (sending blessings to Prophet and his progeny) is also highly recommended on Friday and its night. Imam Sadiq (AS) said:

“On Friday night, angels descend from the heavens, and their only task until the sunset of Friday is to record the reward of reciting Salawat on Muhammad and his family. So, it is recommended to recite a thousand times on Friday night, and on other days, a hundred times.” In another narration from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS), it is stated: “On the night of Jumma (Friday) and the day of Friday, send plenty of Salawat upon me. When asked about the abundance, he replied, ‘One hundred times is good, and more is better.’” Sheikh Tusi mentions that sending a thousand Salawat on Muhammad and his family is recommended on Friday, saying: “On Friday, sending a thousand blessings upon Muhammad and his family is recommended, and one should say:

O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and hasten their reappearance, and destroy their enemies from the jinn and mankind, from the first to the last.’”
Devoting attention to reciting this Salawat, especially saying it for a hundred times from after Friday afternoon until the end of the day, holds great merit.

“I seek forgiveness from Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Sustainer, and I turn to Him in repentance. Repentance of a humble, destitute, and submissive servant, unable to do well or avoid evil, lacking justice, with no benefit or harm, no life or death, and no resurrection. May Allah’s blessings be upon Muhammad and his pure and righteous family, the chosen and virtuous ones, with abundant greetings.”

  • Prayer of Imam Ali (AS): This prayer consists of four units (rak’ahs). In each rak’ah, recite Surah Al-Fatiha once and Surah Al-Ikhlas (Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad) fifty times.
  • Two Rak’ahs Prayer: In each rak’ah, recite Surah Al-Fatiha once and Surah az-Zalzalah (chapter-98) fifteen times. It is mentioned in a narration that whoever performs this prayer will be saved from the punishment of the grave and the terrors of the Day of Judgment.
  • Additional Prayer during Friday Night: In the first rak’ah, recite Surah Al-Jumu’ah during the Maghrib prayer and Surah Al-Ala during the Isha prayer.

In the second rak’ah, recite Surah At-Tawhid during Maghrib and Surah Al-A’la during Isha. According to a narration from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS): “Whoever performs two rak’ahs on Friday night, reciting Surah Al-Fatiha and Surah Al-Tawhid in each rak’ah, and then after the prayer says ‘Astaghfirullah’ seventy times, I swear by the One who has sent me as a messenger, by the right of the one who has sent me, and by the right of the one who has sent me for the entire Ummah, Allah will answer his prayer and admit the entire Ummah to Paradise.”

  • Recitation of Dua al-Faraj: for the reappearance of the Imam of the time, this dua is highly recommended on every occasion, especially on the night and day of Friday:
“O Allah, be for Your Wali (representative), the proof, son of Al-Hasan, Your blessings be upon him and his forefathers, in this hour and in every hour, a guardian, a protector, a leader, a helper, a guide, and an eye, until You make him live on earth in obedience to You, and cause him to live for a long time therein.”
  • Recitation of Dua for forgiveness: This Dua for forgiveness is highly recommended on the night of Friday:
    يَا دَائِمَ الْفَضْلِ عَلَى الْبَرِيَّةِ يَا بَاسِطَ الْيَدَيْنِ بِالْعَطِيَّةِ يَا صَاحِبَ الْمَوَاهِبِ السَّنِيَّةِ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ خَيْرِ الْوَرَى سَجِيَّةً وَ اغْفِرْ لَنَا يَا ذَا الْعُلَى فِي هَذِهِ الْعَشِيَّةِ“O Eternal Bestower of Grace upon all creatures, O Extender of Hands with generosity, O Possessor of seasonal gifts, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, the best of mankind, in abundance, and forgive us, O Most High, on this evening.”
  • Recitation of Dua al-Kumayl: Reading Dua al Kumayl on Friday night is recommended. The merits of reciting this supplication have been emphasized by scholars. May these acts of worship bring blessings and forgiveness to the believers who engage in them on Friday night.“O Kumayl! The duration of our companionship and service has led me to elevate you with such blessings and honors. Then he said, ‘Write,’ and dictated the supplication to me. Based on the writings and documents mentioned by Seyed Ibn Tawus in the book Iqbal al-A’mal, confirmed by Allama Majlisi, the best time to recite Dua Kumayl is on the night of the middle of Sha’ban and Friday nights. The Arabic text and its translation is as follows:

O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy, which embraces all things; And by Your strength, through which You dominates all things, And toward which all things are humble And before which all things are lowly; And by Your invincibility through which You overwhelms all things, And by Your might, which nothing can resist; And by Your tremendousness, which has filled all things; by Your force, which towers over all things; And by Your face, which subsists after the annihilation of all things, And by Your Names, which have filled the foundations of all things; And by Your knowledge, which encompasses all things; And by the light of Your face, through which all things are illumined! O Light! O All-holy!

O First of those who are first And O Last of those who are last!

O Allah, forgive me those sins which tear apart safeguards! O Allah, forgive me those sins which draw down adversities! O Allah, forgive me those sins which alter blessings! O Allah forgive me those sins which hold back supplication! O Allah forgive me those sins which cut down the hopes! O Allah, forgive me those sins which draw down tribulation! O Allah, forgive me every sin I have committed and every mistake I have made!

O Allah, verily I seek nearness to You through remembrance of You, And I seek intercession from You with Yourself, And I ask You through Your munificence to bring me near to Your proximity, And to provide me with gratitude toward You And to inspire me with Your remembrance. O Allah, verily I ask You with the asking of a submissive, abased and lowly man to show me forbearance, to have mercy on me And to make me satisfied and content with Your appointment and [make me] humble in every state.

O Allah, I ask You the question of one whose indigence is extreme, And who has stated to You in difficulties his need And whose desire for what is with You has become great. O Allah, Your force is tremendous, Your place is lofty, And Your plan is hidden, Your command is manifest, And Your domination is overwhelming, Your power is unhindered And escape from Your governance is impossible.

O Allah, I find no forgiver of my sins, Nor concealer of my ugly acts Nor transformer of any of my ugly acts into good acts but You There is no god but You! Glory be to You, and Thine is the praise! I have wronged myself, And I have been audacious in my ignorance. And I have depended upon Your ancient remembrance of me and Your favor toward me.

O Allah! O my Protector! How many ugly things You hast concealed! How many burdensome tribulations You hast abolished! And how many stumbles You hast prevented! And how many ordeals You hast repelled! And how much beautiful praise, for which I was unworthy, You hast spread abroad!

O Allah, my tribulation is tremendous, And my bad state is excessive, And my acts are inadequate, And my fetters have tied me down, And my far-fetched hopes have held me back from my gain. And this world with its delusions, my own soul with its offences and my delay have deceived me. O my Master! So I ask You by Your might not to let my evil works and acts veil my supplication from You, And not to disgrace me through the hidden things You knowest of my secrets. And not to hasten me to punishment for what I have done in private: My evil acts in secrecy and my misdeeds. And my continuous negligence and my ignorance. And my manifold passions and my forgetfulness.

And by Your might, O Allah, be kind to me in all states. And be gracious to me in all affairs! My God and my Lord! Have I any but You from whom to ask removal of my affliction and regard for my affairs!

My God and my Master, You have imposed upon me a decree that I followed, driven by my own desires. I did not guard myself against the deception of my enemy, so he enticed me with what I desired, and fate aided him in this. Consequently, I overstepped some of Your boundaries and disobeyed some of Your commands. So, all praise is due to You for all of this, and I have no argument against what Your decree has brought upon me. Your judgment and test have bound me.

And now I have come to You, my God, after my shortcomings and my excessive wrongdoings against myself, apologizing, remorseful, broken-hearted, seeking forgiveness, repenting, confessing, submitting, and acknowledging. I find no escape from what I have done, nor a refuge to which I can turn in my matters, except for Your acceptance of my apology and Your inclusion of me in the vastness of Your mercy. O Allah, accept my apology, have mercy on my severe affliction, and release me from the tight constraints I am in.

My Lord, have mercy upon the weakness of my body, the thinness of my skin and the frailty of my bones. O You who gave rise to my creation, to the remembrance of me, to the nurture of me, to goodness toward me and to nourishment on me, Bestow upon me for the sake of Your having given rise [to me] with generosity and Your previous goodness to me!

O Allah, my Master and my Lord! Canst You see Yourself tormenting me with Your fire after I have professed Your Unity. And after the knowledge of You my heart has embraced, And the remembrance of You my tongue has constantly mentioned. And the love of You to which my mind has clung, And after the sincerity of my confession and my supplication, humble before Your lordship? Far be it from You! You art more generous than that You should squander him whom You hast nurtured, Or banish him whom You hast brought nigh, Or drive away him whom You hast given an abode, Or submit to tribulation him whom You hast spared and shown mercy.

Would that I knew, My Master, My God and my Protector, whether You will give the Fire dominion over faces fallen down prostrate before Your Tremendousness, And over tongues voicing sincerely the profession of Your Unity and giving thanks to You in praise, And over hearts acknowledging Your Divinity through verification, And over minds encompassing knowledge of You until they have become humble. And over bodily members speeding to the places of Your worship in obedience and beckoning for Your forgiveness in submission.

Such is not my expectation of You, nor what I have been told of Your grace, O All-Generosity. O my Lord, You know my weakness in enduring even a little of the trials and punishments of this world and what its inhabitants face of hardships. These are trials and distresses that are short-lived, brief in duration, and transient in existence. How then can I bear the trials of the Hereafter and the enormity of the hardships therein? They are trials whose duration is long, their stay is everlasting, and they are not alleviated for their inhabitants, for they stem from Your wrath, vengeance, and anger, and this is something that neither the heavens nor the earth can withstand. O my Master, how can I, Your weak, humble, insignificant, and miserable servant, endure it?

My God! My Lord! My Master! My Protector! What should I complain to You about? For what should I lament and weep? Is it for the pain and severity of Your chastisement? Or for the duration and intensity of tribulation? If You subject me to the punishments reserved for Your enemies, gather me among those who face Your trials, and separate me from Your friends and saints, then, my God, my Master, my Protector, my Lord, even if I can endure Your chastisement, how can I endure separation from You? And even if I can bear the heat of Your fire, how can I withstand not gazing upon Your generosity? How can I dwell in the Fire when my hope rests in Your pardon?

So by Your might, my Master and my protector, I swear sincerely, that if You leave me to speak, I will lament to You from the midst of the Fire’s inhabitants with lamentation of the hopeful; I will cry to You with the cry of those crying for help; I will weep to You with the weeping of the bereft; And I will call out to You, Where are You, O Helper of the believers, O ultimate hope of the knowers? O rescuer of those who seek aid? O beloved of the hearts of the truthful? O God of all the worlds?

So, do You see, glory be to You, my God, and all praise be to You, that You would hear in it the voice of a Muslim servant who is imprisoned there for his disobedience, tasting the flavour of its punishment due to his sin, and confined within its layers because of his offense and crime, while he cries out to You with the cry of one hopeful for Your mercy, and calls to You with the language of those who profess Your oneness, and entreats You by Your lordship? My Master, how can he remain in torment while he hopes for Your previous forbearance? Or how can the fire cause him pain while he expects Your grace and mercy?

Or how can its flames burn him while You hear his voice and see his place? Or how can its roaring encompass him while You know his weakness? Or how can he be tossed about between its layers while You know his sincerity? Or how can its keepers torment him while he calls out to You, “O Lord”? Or how can he hope for Your grace in freeing him from it, yet You leave him in it?

Far be it! Such is not what is expected of You, nor what is known of Your grace, nor does it resemble Your treatment of those who have professed Your oneness with Your kindness and beneficence. Therefore, I am certain that, were it not for the judgment You have decreed to punish Your deniers and the decision You have made to eternally torment Your enemies, You would have made the entire fire cool and peaceful, and no one would have had a place or abode in it. But Your names are sanctified, and You have sworn to fill it with the disbelievers, from among the jinn and all mankind, and to eternally keep the stubborn therein. And You, whose praise is exalted, have said in the beginning and graciously bestowed by Your generosity: “Is he who is a believer like him who is an evildoer? They are not equal.”

My God and my Master, I ask You by Your power, which You have ordained, and by the decree which You have decided and imposed, and have triumphed over whomsoever it was executed upon, to grant me in this night and in this hour, every sin I have committed, every wrong I have perpetrated, every ugly thing I have concealed, and every ignorant act I have done, whether I have hidden it or revealed it, whether I have kept it secret or made it known, and every sin that You have ordered the noble writers to record.

Those whom You appointed to keep track of what comes from me, and made them witnesses against me along with my limbs, while You were the observer over me from behind them, and the witness of what was hidden from them. And by Your mercy, You concealed it, and by Your grace, You veiled it. And I ask You to grant me a share of every good that You have sent down, or kindness You have bestowed, or goodness You have spread, or sustenance You have expanded, or sin You forgive, or error You cover.
O My Lord, O My Lord, O My Lord.

O my God, my Master, my Lord, and the Owner of my freedom! O You in whose hand is my forelock, O All-Knowing of my harm and my poverty, O All-Aware of my need and my destitution, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord, I ask You by Your truth, Your sanctity, and Your greatest attributes and names, to make my times of night and day filled with Your remembrance and connected to Your service. May my deeds be accepted by You, so that my works and devotions become one continuous devotion, and my state in Your service is everlasting.

O You to whom I complain of my conditions, O Lord, O Lord, O Lord, strengthen my limbs for Your service, and reinforce my determination, and grant me earnestness in Your fear and continuity in my connection to Your service, so that I may swiftly move towards You in the fields of the forerunners, and hasten towards You among those who hasten, and yearn for Your closeness among those who yearn, and draw near to You with the sincerity of the sincere, and fear You with the fear of the certain, and gather in Your proximity with the believers.

O Allah, whoever wishes me harm, wish him harm, and whoever plots against me, plot against him. Make me one of Your best servants in Your presence, the nearest to You in rank, and the most privileged in proximity to You. For none can attain this except by Your grace. Bestow upon me Your generosity and honour me with Your glory. Preserve me with Your mercy, make my tongue fluent in Your remembrance, and my heart passionate in Your love. Grant me the grace of a favourable response, lift me from my mistakes, and forgive my slips. For You have decreed worship upon Your servants, commanded them to supplicate, and guaranteed them a response.

To You, my Lord, I have directed my face, and to You, my Lord, I have extended my hands. By Your majesty, answer my prayer, fulfil my wishes, and do not cut off my hope in Your grace. Protect me from the evil of jinn and human enemies.

O You who is swift in satisfaction, forgive one who possesses nothing but supplication. For You are the doer of what You will, O You whose name is a remedy, whose remembrance is a cure, and whose obedience is wealth. Have mercy on one whose only capital is hope and whose weapon is tears. O You who showers blessings, repels calamities, light of those who are alone in the darkness, and knower of all that is taught, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and do with me what befits You. Allah’s blessings be upon His Messenger and the righteous Imams from his family. Peace be upon them abundantly.

Prayer and Seeking Forgiveness for Believers: It is recommended to pray for fellow believers on Friday nights. Imam Sadiq (AS) narrates from Imam Hasan (AS):

“On Friday night, I saw my mother Fatimah (peace be upon her) standing in worship, continuously bowing and prostrating until dawn broke. I heard her praying abundantly for the believers, mentioning their names, while not seeking anything for herself. I asked, ‘Mother, why do you pray for others but not for yourself?’ She replied, ‘My son, “Be a neighbor, then be at home.” For the believers, it is recommended to pray for others before praying for oneself.’”

A narration from the Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) states:

“Whoever recites this supplication on Friday night or during the day seven times, and if they die on that night or day, they will enter Paradise.”

Dua: “O Allah, my Lord, there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant and the son of Your maidservant. In Your grasp and under Your control. I rise in the morning under Your covenant and promise, as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings, and I acknowledge my sins. Forgive me, as no one forgives sins except You.”

May the believers find solace and blessings in these prayers and supplications when recited on Friday nights.

Recitation of the Qur’an: Imam Sadiq (AS) stated in a narration:
“Whoever recites the blessed chapter Al-Ahqaf on Friday night or during the day of Friday will not experience any fear in their heart in this world, and they will be safe from the great terror of the Day of Judgment. Also, whoever consistently recites the chapter Al-Mu’minun (The Believers) on Fridays, Allah, the Most High, will grant him a successful and prosperous end to his affairs, and his status in the highest levels of Paradise will be with the divine prophets.”

Recitation of Ziyarat al-Warith: On the night of Friday, it is recommended to do the ziyarah of Imam Hussain (AS):

Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the chosen one of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah, the Prophet of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham, the friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses, the spokesman of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus, the Spirit of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the beloved of Allah. Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, the friend of Allah. Peace be upon you, O son of Muhammad al-Mustafa. Peace be upon you, O son of Ali al-Murtadha. Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah al-Zahra. Peace be upon you, O avenger of Allah and son of His avenger. I bear witness that you established prayer, gave alms, enjoined what is good, and forbade what is evil, and you obeyed Allah and His Messenger until certainty came to you.

May Allah curse the nation that killed you, and may Allah curse the nation that oppressed you, and may Allah curse the nation that heard of this and was pleased with it. O my master, O Aba Abdullah, I bear witness that you were a light in noble lineages and purified wombs. Ignorance did not defile you with its filth, nor did the impurities of falsehood clothe you. I bear witness that you are among the pillars of the religion, the foundations of the believers. I bear witness that you are the righteous Imam, the pious, the pleased, the pure, the guide, the guided. I bear witness that the Imams from your offspring are the words of piety, the banners of guidance, the firmest handle, the proof against the people of the world. I bear witness by Allah, His angels, His prophets, and His messengers that I am a believer in you and in your vengeance [by your signs], confident in the ordinances of my religion and the conclusions of my deeds. My heart is in peace with yours, my affair follows yours. May the blessings of Allah be upon you, upon your souls, upon your bodies, upon your beings, upon your apparent, your absent, your outward, and your inward.

By my father and my mother, O son of the Messenger of Allah, by my father and my mother, O Aba Abdullah, indeed the calamity has befallen us and all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth because of you. So may Allah curse the nation that raised arms against you that fought against you, and prepared for your battle, O my master, O Aba Abdullah. I have come to your sanctuary and I have approached your scene. I ask Allah, by the matter which is with Him and by the position which you have with Him, to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and to make me among you in this world and the Hereafter.

Peace be upon you, O son of Hussain, the martyr. Peace be upon you, O martyr. Peace be upon you, O oppressed one, and son of the oppressed. May Allah curse the nation that killed you, and may Allah curse the nation that wronged you, and may Allah curse the nation that heard of it and were pleased with it. Peace be upon you, O guardian of Allah, and son of His guardian. Indeed, the calamity has befallen us, and the disgrace has descended upon us and upon all the Muslims because of you. So may Allah curse the nation that killed you, and I dissociate myself to Allah and to you from them.

Peace be upon you, O supporters of Abu Abdullah, by my parents, you are purified, and blessed is the land in which you are buried. You have achieved a great achievement, so I wish I had been with you to achieve alongside you.
Note: It is also recommended to perform two units of Salah just like Salatul Fajr right after Ziyarah and dedicate it to Imam Hussain AS

Ghusl (Ritual Bath) on Friday: It is recommended to perform Ghusl on Fridays. The Prophet (SAWAS) said:

O Ali! People must bathe [at least] once every seven days, so bathe every Friday, even if you have to buy the water with [the money set aside for] your provision of that day and go without food, for there is no recommended act of worship greater than it.’[Bihar al-Anwar, v. 81, p. 129, no. 18] Imam Sadiq (AS) is narrated to have said: “Perform Ghusl on Fridays and recite the following supplication: ‘I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and make me among those who repent and those who purify themselves.’ Whoever does so will attain a state of purity and cleanliness until the next Friday. This means they will be purified from sins or their spiritual actions will be performed with purity and acceptance by Allah. It is recommended to perform Ghusl on Friday from the time after dawn until noon, and the closer to noon, the better. According to the fatwas of most Shia scholars, performing Ghusl on Friday is highly recommended (mustahab al- mu’akkad), and some scholars in the past even considered it obligatory. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the importance of Ghusl on Fridays to Imam Ali (AS) by saying, ‘Never abandon the Friday Ghusl, even if you have to economize on your food and provisions and spend for Ghusl. For, the Friday Ghusl is one of the greatest and most virtuous acts.’”

Special Ten-Rak’ah Prayer on Friday: “Whoever manages to recite Surah Al-Mu’minun (The Believers) continuously on Friday nights, Allah, the Most High, will bring his affairs to a fortunate and blissful end, and his station in Paradise will be among the divine prophets.”

Special Ten-Rak’ah Prayer on Friday: Harith Hamdani reported from Imam Ali (AS) that performing ten Rak’ahs of prayer on Friday, along with reciting specific supplications after every two Rak’ahs, is highly beneficial.
May the believers find fulfilment and blessings in observing these recommended actions on Fridays.

Two-Rak’ah Prayer on Friday: Imam Sadiq (AS) mentioned in a narration: “Whoever recites Surah Ibrahim (Abraham) and Surah Hijr (The Rocky Tract) in a two-rak’ah prayer on Fridays will never suffer from distress, madness, or any other calamity.”
May this act of devotion bring tranquillity and blessings to those who perform it on Fridays.

Attending Friday Prayer: The most important act of Friday is attending the Friday prayer. The Prophet Muhammad (SAWAS) said:
“Whoever performs the Friday prayer, a Hajj accepted by Allah will be recorded for him. If he also prays the Asr prayer, he will receive the rewards of both Hajj and Umrah. And if he stays in the Mosque until the night, whatever he asks from Allah will be granted.” The rulings of the Friday prayer will be mentioned at the end. Sheikh Sadooq, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated from Imam Sadiq (AS): “Among the obligatory and necessary acts for every Shia believer is to recite Surah Al-Jumu’ah and Surah Al-Munafiqun in the night and day of Friday, respectively. If one follows this method, it is as if he has acted according to the tradition of the Messenger of Allah, and his reward and recompense will be Paradise from Allah.”

Salawat after Friday prayer: Imam Sadiq (AS) has narrated: Whoever recites this Salawat “ten times” after the Friday afternoon prayer, before getting up from their place, the angels will send blessings upon them from this Friday until the next Friday at that moment. It has also been narrated from him: When you have performed the Friday afternoon prayer, recite this Salawat “seven times.” The Salawat is as follows:

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the righteous successors, with Your best blessings, and bless them with Your best blessings. Peace be upon them, and upon their souls, bodies, and the mercy and blessings of Allah.

Special Prayer for Imam Mahdi (AJ): One of the significant acts on Fridays is anticipating the coming of Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) and seeking his intercession. Reading Ziyarat (visitations) and supplications dedicated to Imam Mahdi on this day is recommended. Some traditions suggest that the likelihood of his reappearance is higher on Fridays.

Ziyarat for Imam Mahdi (AJ): Friday is dedicated to Imam al-Mahdi (AS), the Patron of the Age—peace be upon him—for his blessed advent will be on Friday. May Allah hasten his advent So, it is recommended to solute him on Fridays, with the following words:

Peace be upon you, O argument of Allah in His lands! Peace be upon you, O sight of Allah on His creatures! Peace be upon you, O light of Allah, by which those who have been guided [to the true guidance] are guided. And by which the believers are relieved! Peace be upon you, O polite and fearful! Peace be upon you, O sincere patron! Peace be upon you, O ark of salvation! Peace be upon you, O essence of life! Peace be upon you. May Allah send blessings to you and upon your Household, the pure and immaculate. Peace be upon you. May Allah hasten that which He has promised you; namely, victory and prevalence of your authority. Peace be upon you, O my master. I am a servant of you and I recognize the first and the last of your affair. I seek nearness to Allah, the Exalted, through your Household and you and I am expecting your advent and the prevalence of the truth at your hands.

And I beseech Allah to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, and to include me with those who are expecting you, those who follow you and support you against your enemies, and those who will be martyred in front of you in the group of your loyalists. O my master, O Patron of the Age! May Allah’s blessings be upon you and upon your Household. Today is Friday, which is your day on which your advent is expected to bring about relief to the believers at your hands, and killing of the disbelievers with your sword. On this day, O my master, I am your guest and in your vicinity and you, my master, are generous and the descendant of the generous people, and you are commanded to receive your guests and neighbours hospitably; so, receive me as your guest and neighbour. May Allah’s blessings be upon you and upon your Household, the immaculate.

Friday Supplication: Additionally, it is recommended to recite a special supplication on Fridays. Sheikh Abbas Qumi, in Mafatih al-Jinan, has provided a concise and profound supplication for each day, quoting from Sahifa Sajjadiya. The Friday supplication, recommended to be recited after the Fajr prayer, is as follows:

Du’a Nudbah (Supplication of Lamentation): Du’a Nudbah is one of the well-known supplications attributed to Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance). It focuses on seeking help and assistance from Imam Mahdi, expressing regret and sorrow for his prolonged absence. According to the narration of Seyyed Ibn Tawus, reciting Du’a Nudbah is recommended during the significant occasions of the four Eids (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Eid al-Ghadir, and Friday):

All praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds. May Allah send blessings upon our master Mu¦ammad His Prophet and his Household and may He salute them with thorough salutation.

O Allah, all praise be to You .for Your decree that has been applied to Your vicegerents whom You have purely selected for Yourself and Your religion; as You have chosen for them the abundance of what You have in possession; that is the enduring pleasure that neither vanishes nor diminishes, after You had already stipulated on them to renounce all the ranks of this lowly world along with all of its embellishments and ornaments, and they accepted this stipulation. As You knew that they would fulfil this stipulation, You accepted and drew them near to You. You thus provided them with sublime mention and obvious approval, made Your angels descend to them, honoured them with Your revelations, supported them with Your knowledge, and made them the channel to You and the means to winning Your pleasure.

Therefore, You made some of them dwell in Your Garden until You decided to take him out of there. You bore another one on in Your Ark. and saved him and those who believed with him from perdition, out of Your mercy. You took another one as Your intimate friend and when he asked You to leave behind him a truthful mention, You responded to him and made that (mention) to be eminent. You spoke to another one from a tree directly and decided his brother to be his protector and representative. You made another one to be born without a father, gave him clear-cut proofs and aided him with the Sacred Spirit. For each of them, You gave a code of law, decided a certain course, and finely chose successors; well-trustworthy successors one after another, each for a certain period, in purpose of establishing Your religion and acting as arguments against Your servants, so that the truth should never leave its position and the wrong should never overcome the people of the truth and so that none should claim, saying, “If only You had sent to us a warning messenger and established for us a guiding person, we should have followed Your signs before that we met humiliation and disgrace!”

You then ended the matter with Your most-beloved and well-select one, Muhammad, may Allah bless him and his Household. He was—as exactly as You have chosen the master of all those whom You created, the best of all those whom You selected, the most favourite of all those whom You pointed out, and the noblest of all those on whom You decided. So, You preferred him to Your prophets, sent him to the two dependents (men and jinn) from Your servants, enabled him to tread on the east and the west of Your lands, made subservient to him the Burraq (the celestial Sumter), raised his soul to Your heavens, and entrusted with him the knowledge of whatever passed and whatever shall come to pass up to the extinction of Your creatures. You then granted him victory by means of horror ordered (Archangels) Gabriel and Michael as well as the marked angels to surround him, and promised him to make his faith prevail all other faiths however much the polytheists may be averse. You did all that after You had settled him in an honest position among his people, made for him and them the first house ever located for the people; that is the house in Bakkah, blessed and guidance for the worlds. In it, there are clear-cut proofs. It is the standing-place of Abraham, and whoever enters it will be secured. You also said, “Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House, and to purify you a thorough purifying.”

You then decided the reward of Muhammad, Your blessings be upon him and his Household, to be the love for them; as in Your Book You said, “Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives.” You also said, “Whatever reward I have asked of you that are only for yourselves.” You also said, “I do not ask you aught in return except that he who wills, may take the way to his Lord.” They (i.e. the Prophet’s Household) have therefore been the way to You and the course to Your pleasure. When his (i.e. the Prophet) days passed, he appointed as successor his vicegerent `Al¢ the son of Abu Talib, Your blessings be upon both of them and their Household, because he (the Prophet) was the warner and `Ali was the guide for every people. So, he (the Prophet) said in the presence of the people, “As for each one who has taken me as his master, `Ali is now his master. O Allah, guard anyone who is loyal to `Ali, be the enemy of any one who antagonizes him, support any one who supports him, and disappoint anyone who disappoints him.”

He also said, “As for anyone who has considered me as his Prophet, `Ali is now his commander.” He also said, “Ali and I are of the same tree, while all the other peoples are from various trees.” He endued him (Ali) with the position that (Prophet) Aaron had with regard to (Prophet) Moses, saying, “Your position to me is as same as Aaron’s position to Moses (in everything) except that there shall be no prophet after me.” He gave him in marriage his daughter the doyenne of the women of the worlds. He allowed him (alone) to do whatever he himself is allowed to do in his Mosque. He closed all the doors (to the Mosque) except his (Ali’s) door. He then entrusted with him his knowledge and his wisdom, saying, “I am the city of knowledge, and `Ali is its door. So, whoever wants this city and wisdom must come to it from its door.” He then said (to Ali), “You are my brother, successor, and inheritor. Your flesh is part of my flesh, your blood is part of my blood, your peace is my peace, your war is my war, and faith is mixed with your flesh and blood as same as it is mixed with my flesh and blood. On the morrow, you shall be my vicegerent on the (Divine) Pond. You also settle my debts and fulfil my commitments. Your Shia (adherents) shall be on pulpits of light, white-faced, around me in Paradise. They are my neighbours (therein).

Were it not for you O Ali, true believers would not be recognized after me.” Hence, he (Ali), after the Prophet, was true guidance against straying off, light against blindness, the firmest rope of Allah. and His straight path. None would precede him in blood relation (with the Prophet) or any priority in a religious affair, and none would ever match him in any item of virtue. He patterned after the Messenger, may Allah’s blessings be upon both of them and their Household. He fought for the sake of true interpretation (of the Quran). The blame of any blamer would never stop him from doing anything for the sake of Allah. He thus exterminated the villains of the Arabs, killed their heroes, and eradicated their ferocious fighters. He therefore filled in their hearts with malice from the battles of Badr, Khaybar, and Hunayn as well as others. Therefore, they clang inseparably to opposing him and attached upon dissenting him until he had to kill the preachers, the unjust, and the apostates. When he passed away and he was killed by the most miserable of all of the late generations who will be attached to the most miserable of the past generations, the decree of Allah’s Messenger, may Allah bless him and his Household, about the leadership of the successive guiding ones was not carried out; rather, the people insisted on detesting him and agreed unanimously on rupturing their relations with him and moving away his descendants (from leadership), except for a few ones who fulfilled the duty of observing their rights.

Many (of Ali’s descendants) were therefore slain, many others were taken as captives, and many others were banished. Decrees were thus applied to them in a form expected to grant them excellent reward for that. Verily, the earth is Allah’s; He gives it in inheritance to whoever of His servants that He wishes; and the end result shall be for the pious. All glory be to our Lord. Most certainly, the promise of our Lord shall come to pass. Allah shall never fail to fulfil His promise. He is the Almighty, the All-wise. For the immaculate ones from the household of Muhammad and Ali, may Allah bless both of them and their household, let weepers weep. For them too, let lamenters lament. For the like of them, let tears be shed, screamers scream, yellers yell, and wailers wail.

Until when will I be bewildered about you, O my master, and until when? In what kind of statement and in what kind of talk can I describe you? It is hard for me that I can receive answers and words, but you cannot. It is hard for me that I weep for you but the others disappoint you. It is hard for me that what has happened afflict you other than all the others. Is there any helper with whom I may lament and bewail as much as I wish? Is there any aggrieved one whom I can help in grief when he becomes tired? Is there any eye moiling out and thus my eye may help it to moll out more? Is there any way to meet you, O son of Ahmad (the Prophet)? Will our day be promised to catch your day and we will thus achieve our hope? When will we be able to join your refreshing springs and we will then be satiated? When will we quench our thirst from your fresh water, because thirst has been too long? When will we accompany you in coming and going so that our eyes will be delighted? When will you see us and we see you spreading the pennon of victory? Can it be that we surround you while you are leading the groups? After you will have filled in the earth with justice, tasted your enemies humiliation and punishment, annihilated the insolent defiant and the deniers of the truth, cut off the roots of the arrogant, eradicated the sources of the wrongdoers, and we keep on saying, “All praise be to Allah the Lord of the worlds?”

O Allah, You are verily the reliever from agonies and ordeals. To You do I complain about the transgressions against me, for You alone are worthy of receiving complaints, and You are alone the Lord of the Hereafter and this world. So, (please) aid Your agonized worthless servant, O Aide of those who seek aid, grant him (i.e. Your servant) chance to see his master, O Lord of mighty prowess, remove from him misfortune and anguish, in the name of his master, and satisfy his thirst, O He Who is established on the Throne and He to Whom is the return and the final goal. O Allah, we are Your servants who are fervently willing to meet Your vicegerent, who reminds of You and Your Prophet; and whom You have created as haven and refuge for us, You have appointed as foundation and source of protection for us, and whom You have made to be the leader of the believers among us. So, (please) convey to him greetings and salutations from us, endue us with more honor, O my Lord, through that, decide his settlement among us to be settlement and dwelling for us, and perfect Your bounty by making him occupy the leading position before us so that You shall allow us to enter the gardens of Your Paradise and to accompany the martyrs from among Your elite ones.

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad; and send blessings upon Muhammad his grandfather and Your messenger; the senior master, upon his father the junior master, upon his grandmother the grand veracious lady Fatimah the daughter of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household, upon his dutiful fathers whom You have chosen (over all others), and upon him with such most favourable, most perfect, most thorough, most permanent, most abundant, and most plentiful blessings that You have ever sent upon any of Your elite ones and well-chosen ones among Your creatures. And (please) bless him with such blessings whose number is infinite, whose quantity is never-ending, and whose time is interminable. O Allah! Through him, establish all rights, refute the entire wrong, grant triumph to Your loyalists, humiliate Your enemies, establish, O Allah, between him and us a connection that leads us to accompany his ancestors, include us with those who will take their vengeance and keep constant under their shadow, help us fulfill our duties towards him, exert all efforts in obedience to him and avoiding disobeying him, bestow upon us with the favor of attaining his pleasure, and grant us his kindness, mercy, prayer (for us), and his goodness in an amount due to which we will gain a good deal of Your mercy and achievement with You.

And, through him, render our prayers admitted, our sins forgiven, and our supplications responded. And, through him too, make our sustenance expanded for us, our distresses relieved, and our needs granted. And (please) receive us with Your Noble Face, approve of our seeking nearness to You, and have a merciful look at us by which we will win perfect honour with You; and, after that, do not ever take it away from us, in the name of Your magnanimity, and give us a drink from the Pond of his grandfather, may Allah bless him and his Household, from his own cup and with his own hand, such a replete, satiating, pleasant, and wholesome drink after which we shall never suffer from thirst. O most merciful of all those who show mercy!

Supplication for Atonement of Sins: It is recommended to recite the following supplication after the Fajr prayer on Friday to seek forgiveness for sins committed from this Friday to the next:

“O Allah! Whatever I have uttered or sworn or vowed on this Friday, all of it is subject to Your will. Whatever You wish to be, it becomes, and whatever You do not wish to be, it does not happen. O Allah! Forgive and overlook my sins. Whoever You send blessings upon, my blessings are upon him, and whoever You curse, my curse is upon him.”

Additional Supplication after Fajr on Friday: Sheikh Tusi narrated that it is recommended to recite the following supplication after the Fajr prayer on Friday:

“O Allah! I have come to You with my need, and I have brought to You today my poverty, need, and dwelling. I seek Your forgiveness for my actions. Your forgiveness and mercy are broader than my sins. So turn to fulfill all my needs with Your power and make it easy for me. I have never achieved any good except through You, nor has anyone turned away any evil from me other than You.”

Recitation of the Quran on Friday: It is recommended to recite Surah Al-Rahman after the Fajr prayer on Friday, and after the verse “Fabi ayyi aalaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan,” say, “Laba shay’in min aalaa’ika Rabbi ukaazzibu,” meaning, “O Lord! I deny none of Your bounties.” Sheikh Tusi also mentions that after the Fajr prayer on Friday, it is recommended to recite Surah Al-Tawhid a hundred times, send blessings upon Prophet Muhammad and his family a hundred times, and seek forgiveness a hundred times. Afterward, recite Surahs An-Nisa, Hud, Al-Kahf, As-Saffat, and Ar-Rahman.

Special Salawat on Friday: The special Salawat (sending blessings) upon Prophet Muhammad and his family. Reciting Salawat a hundred times on Fridays leads to honour. Whoever recites Salawat a hundred times on Friday and other days after the Fajr and Dhuhr prayers, saying:

“Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa aali Muhammadin wa ‘ajjil farajahum.” “O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and hasten their reappearance.” This prayer, when recited a hundred times, brings about the fulfilment of sixty worldly needs and thirty needs for the Hereafter.

Special Dua (Supplication) Friday prayer: Another recommended practice for Friday is to supplicate the following:

In the name of God, whose mercy is abundant and whose compassion is everlasting, I praise God, who is the beginning of existence before creation, the giver of life, and the end of existence after the destruction of all things. He is the Knower who does not forget those who remember Him, and He does not diminish the gratitude of those who express thanks to Him. He does not disappoint those who have hope in Him, and He does not sever the hope of those who rely on Him. O God! I bear witness to You, and You are sufficient as a witness. I bear witness to all Your angels, the inhabitants of Your heavens, the guardians of Your throne, Your messengers and prophets whom You have sent, and all the diverse creations You have brought into being. I bear witness that I believe truly that You are God, worthy of worship, and there is no deity but You.

You are the Unique One; you have no partner, no peer, no variation, no difference, and no change in your speech. And Muhammad, upon whom God and his family send blessings, is your servant and messenger; he fulfilled the mission entrusted to him and conveyed it to your servants, and he struggled in the cause of God as was befitting, giving glad tidings of the reward that is due and warning of the punishment that is just. O God! Keep me steadfast in your religion as long as I live.

And after You have illuminated my heart with the light of guidance, do not let me deviate, and grant me mercy from Yourself. For You alone are the Forgiving. Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, place me among his followers and Shia, gather me in his group, grant me success in fulfilling the obligations of Fridays and the acts of worship that You have made obligatory upon me therein, and make me worthy of the rewards You have prepared for the people of Friday in the Hereafter, for indeed You are Powerful and Wise.

Remembrance and Tasbeeh of the Prophet at the End of Friday: The glorification of Allah and the remembrance of His attributes and greatness, through the phrases and supplications that the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite, have been recommended during the final hours of Friday:

“Glory be to You, there is no god but You, O Most Compassionate, O Bestower of Bounties, O Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of Majesty and Generosity.”

Visiting the Graves: Sheikh Abbas Qumi, in the book “Mafatih al-Janan,” mentions, quoting from Jami’ al-Akhbar by Muhammad Shu’ayri, that “the souls of believers come to the sky of the material world in front of their homes every Friday and seek kindness and charity from their surviving relatives.”

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (AS) said about visiting the graves of the believers: “When Friday comes, visit them (the graves), as each of them finds relief and expansion between the dawn and sunrise. Therefore, at this time every day, those who visit them gain knowledge and information. However, when the sun rises, they depart, and they are no longer able to direct their affairs in the world or visit their own kind.” I asked, “Do they gain knowledge and happiness from those who visit their graves?” He replied, “Yes, they are happy, and they are also anxious for the return of the visitors from the graves to their places.” The Prophet Muhammad, (SAWAS), said: “Whoever visits the grave of their father or mother or one of the two every Friday, and recites Surah Yasin beside their graves, God will grant forgiveness and mercy for every letter of it.”

Trimming the Nails: Imam Sadiq (AS) is reported to have said: “Trimming the nails on Friday protects a person from diseases such as leprosy, blindness, and leprosy. If there is no need to trim the nails on Friday, rub them with a comb so that particles are separated.”

In another narration, he said: “On every Friday, cut your moustache and nails. If your nails are short, rub them with a comb on Friday so that you do not suffer from madness, leprosy, or leprosy.”

Seeking Religious Knowledge: The pursuit of knowledge has always been emphasized by religious leaders. It is narrated from Imam Sadiq (AS), that he said: “Woe to the condition of a Muslim who does not spend Friday of the week learning his religious issues and, for this work, refrains from other activities.”

Giving Charity: Imam Sadiq (AS) said: “Charity given on the night of Friday is rewarded a thousand times, and charity given on the day of Friday is rewarded a thousand times.”

Seeking Forgiveness: It is recommended to say the phrase “Astaghfirullah Rabbi wa Atubu Ilaih” (I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, and I repent to Him) in the final hours of Friday. Recite it seventy times after the Asr prayer to receive forgiveness and mercy from Allah.

Reading Duas from Sahifa Sajjadiya: Reading the supplications “Ya Man Yarhamu Man La Tarhamuhu al-Ibad” and “Allahumma Hatha Yawmun Mubarakhun” from Sahifa Sajjadiya, which are both complete supplications, is recommended on Fridays.

Reading the Dua Samat: The Dua Samat (Supplication of attributes) is among the supplications that are recommended to be recited on Fridays, especially during the sunset of these days. The recommended time for reciting this supplication is when the sun is setting on Fridays. The Dua of Samat is narrated from Imam Baqir (AS):

O Allah! I ask You by Your most magnificent, most glorious, most honoured, and most exalted name, which, when invoked, opens the locked doors of the heavens for mercy, and when invoked, opens the tight doors of the earth for relief, and when invoked, eases difficulties, and when invoked, brings the dead back to life, and when invoked, removes calamities and hardships, and by the majesty of Your noble face.

The most honoured of faces, the most exalted of faces, before whom all faces bow in humility, all necks bend, all voices lower, and all hearts tremble in fear. By Your strength, by which You hold up the heavens from falling upon the earth except by Your permission, and by which You keep the heavens and the earth from vanishing. And by Your will, to which all worlds submit.

And by Your word, by which You created the heavens and the earth, and by Your wisdom, with which You crafted wonders and created darkness and made it night, and made the night a time of rest, and created light and made it day, and made the day a time of awakening and visibility. And by it, You created the sun and made the sun a source of light, and created the moon and made the moon a source of illumination.

And by it, You created the stars and made them into constellations, lamps, and adornments, and as missiles for stoning. You assigned to them risings and settings, and made for them orbits and paths. You created for them spheres and swimming courses, and appointed their stages in the heavens with precision. You perfected their creation and shaped them beautifully, counting them by Your names, enumerating them. You managed them with Your wisdom, directing them excellently. You subjected them to the authority of the night and the authority of the day, and to the hours and the reckoning of years. You made their sight visible to all people uniformly.

And I ask You, O Allah, by Your glory with which You spoke to Your servant and messenger, Moses, son of Imran, peace be upon him, among the sanctified, above the perception of the Cherubim, above the clouds of light, above the Ark of the Covenant, in the pillar of fire, on Mount Sinai, on the mount of Hereby, in the sacred valley, in the blessed spot from the right side of the mountain, from the tree, and in the land of Egypt with nine clear signs, and on the day when You parted the sea for the Children of Israel, and through the springs that gushed forth, performing wonders in the Sea of Reeds.

And You made the waters of the sea firm in the depths like stone, and You allowed the Children of Israel to cross the sea, and Your good promise was fulfilled upon them because of their patience, and You made them inherit the eastern and western parts of the land which You blessed for the worlds. And You drowned Pharaoh and his soldiers and his chariots in the sea. And by Your greatest, most magnificent, most glorious, and most honourable name, and by Your majesty with which You manifested Yourself to Moses, Your interlocutor, peace be upon him, on Mount Sinai, and to Abraham, peace be upon him, Your beloved, previously in the Mosque of Khayf.

And to Isaac, Your chosen one, peace be upon him, at the Well of Seven, and to Jacob, Your prophet, peace be upon him, at Bethel. And You fulfilled Your covenant to Abraham, peace be upon him, and Your oath to Isaac, and Your testimony to Jacob, and Your promise to the believers, and Your response to those who call upon Your names. By Your majesty which appeared to Moses, son of Imran, peace be upon him, at the dome of pomegranates [time, pyramid], and by Your signs which were manifested on the land of Egypt with the glory of might and victory, with mighty signs, and with the authority of power, and with the majesty of ability, and the eminence of the perfect word.

And by Your words with which You have favoured the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, and the people of the world and the people of the hereafter. And by Your mercy, which You have bestowed upon all Your creation, and by Your power, through which You have established order over all the worlds. And by Your light, which caused Mount Sinai to collapse in awe, and by Your knowledge, majesty, grandeur, might, and omnipotence, which the earth could not contain, and to which the heavens submitted, and the great depths were restrained, and the seas and rivers stilled, and the mountains humbled, and the earth became calm in its expanses.

And all creatures submitted to it, and the winds fluttered in their courses, and the fires were extinguished in their places. And by Your dominion, through which Your sovereignty has been acknowledged through all ages, and You have been praised in the heavens and the earth. And by Your word, the word of truth, which preceded for our father Adam, peace be upon him, and his descendants in mercy. And I ask You by Your word, which overcomes everything, and by the light of Your face, which You manifested to the mountain, rendering it crushed, and Moses fell down in a swoon.

And by Your glory, which appeared on Mount Sinai, where You spoke to Your servant and messenger, Moses, son of Amram. And by Your manifestation in the flames and Your appearance in Mount Paran, with the banners of the sanctified, and the ranks of the pure angels, and the humility of the glorifying angels. And by Your blessings, with which You blessed Abraham, Your intimate friend, upon him be peace, in the nation of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. And You blessed Isaac, Your chosen one, in the nation of Jesus, peace be upon them both. And You blessed Jacob, Your Israel, in the nation of Moses, peace be upon them both.

And You blessed Your beloved, Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, in his progeny and descendants, and in his nation, O Allah. Even though we were absent from that and did not witness it, and we believed in it without seeing it as true and just, we ask You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, to shower blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and to have mercy upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You have done so in the most excellent manner of sending blessings, bestowing blessings, and having mercy upon Abraham and the family of Abraham. Indeed, You are praiseworthy, glorious, and you accomplish what You will. And You are able over all things.

So, you ask for your needs and say:

“O Allah, by the right of this supplication and by the right of these names, the interpretations of which are unknown, and their essence is known only to You, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and deal with me according to Your knowledge, not according to mine. Forgive me my sins, whether they are past or present, and grant me an abundance of lawful provision, and suffice me against the harm of an evil person, a bad neighbour, a bad companion, and the authority of evil. Surely, You are able to do whatever You will, and You are knowledgeable about everything. Amen. Lord of all worlds.”

Allamah Majlisi has narrated from the book of “Misbah” by Sayyid Ibn Baqi that after reciting this Dua, one should recite the following Dua:

“O Allah, by the right of this supplication and by the right of these names, the interpretations of which are unknown, and their essence is known only to You, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and grant me the best of this world and the Hereafter.”

Now, you should ask for your needs and say:

“O Allah, do with me as You will, not as I will, and take vengeance for me from so-and-so son of so-and-so.”

You should mention the name of your enemy, then say:

“Forgive me for my sins, those of the past and those of the future, and for my parents, all the believing men and women. Enlarge my provision for me, and suffice me from the evil of such-and-such a person, such-and-such a neighbour, such-and-such a companion, such-and-such a ruler, such-and-such a time, such-and-such an hour. Take vengeance for me from those who plot against me, those who transgress against me, those who harm me, my family, my children, my brothers, my neighbours, my relatives among the believers, unjustly. You have power over all things, and You know everything. Amen. Lord of the Worlds.”

Afterward, you should say:

“O Allah, by the virtue of this supplication, favour the poor believers with wealth and prosperity, the sick believers with healing and health, the living believers with kindness and honour, the deceased believers with forgiveness and mercy, and the traveling believers with a safe return to their homes, victorious, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets, and his pure family, and grant them abundant peace.”

Ibn Fahd adorned it by saying: After Dua al-Samat, it is recommended to say:

“O Allah, I ask You by the sanctity of this supplication, and by what has passed of it in terms of names and meanings that only You encompass, to do such-and-such with me.”(Asking for your needs)
