The Flood That Washed Away Blood Ties; When Faith Nullifies Lineage!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Do you think blood relations are the strongest bonds in the world?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The story of Noah (peace be upon him) overturns this belief completely. During the most terrifying flood in history, when mountain-like waves were swallowing the earth, a father pleaded with God for his son who was drowning in the deluge. Yet the response shook the foundations of history: \u201cHe is not of your family!\u201d Below, we revisit this timeless epic through the luminous verses of the Qur\u2019an. For centuries, ignorance, idolatry, and oppression had cast their shadow over the world. Society had become divided into two classes: arrogant elites and deprived masses. During this darkness, Prophet Noah (peace be upon him), the first of the great steadfast messengers (Ulul Azm), was commanded to tear apart the chains of polytheism through relentless struggle. He spared no effort in awakening sleeping consciences. Day and night, openly and secretly, he approached his people with kindness and compassion. Yet their response was nothing but stubbornness and refusal. The Noble Qur\u2019an narrates Noah\u2019s painful complaint to God as follows:<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe said: My Lord! I have called my people night and day, but my call has only increased them in flight. And whenever I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted in their rejection, and grew ever more arrogant. Then indeed I called them openly and also spoke to them publicly and privately.\u201d (Surah Nuh, verses 5, 6, 8, and 9)<\/p>\n

But this struggle was not for a day or a year; it continued for centuries. Noah (peace be upon him) displayed astonishing patience, which the Qur\u2019an records as follows:<\/p>\n

The Greatest Challenge of Noah: The Front of Disbelief Within His Own Home
\n(The Betrayal of His Wife and the Isolation of His Son)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The greatest pain Noah endured during those nearly one thousand years was loneliness within his own household. His wife not only refused to believe, but also acted as an infiltrator, revealing the secrets of the Prophet\u2019s house to the disbelievers. She sided with them intellectually and told people that Noah was insane. The Qur\u2019an refers to this domestic sabotage with the shocking word \u201cbetrayal,\u201d demonstrating that faith is superior to marital ties:<\/p>\n

\n\u201cGod sets forth the example of the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot for those who disbelieve. They were under two righteous servants among Our servants, but they betrayed them. So their husbands could not avail them against God in the least, and it was said: Enter the Fire along with those who enter.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Noah\u2019s son (Canaan) chose the path of materialistic thinking and alliance with the disbelievers instead of following his father, although he concealed his disbelief to some extent until the moment of the flood.<\/p>\n

The Command to Build the Ark and the Bitter Mockery of the Elites<\/strong><\/p>\n

After all hope of guiding the people was lost, the divine command to build the Ark of salvation was issued. Constructing a massive ship in a dry land far from the sea became a new cause for ridicule by the wealthy and arrogant elites:<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>\u201cAnd he was constructing the Ark, and whenever a group of the elites among his people passed by him, they mocked him. He said: If you mock us, then indeed we will mock you just as you mock.\u201d (Surah Hud, verse 38)<\/p>\n

The Roaring Beginning of the Flood and the Father\u2019s Emotional Call<\/strong><\/p>\n

The appointed time arrived. The sky burst open and the earth split apart. Torrential rain joined with gushing springs from the earth. Noah boarded the believers and pairs of animals onto the Ark, and it sailed upon waves like mountains. Amid that terrifying chaos, Noah caught sight of his son Canaan standing apart in isolation. Paternal affection flared within him, and he called out:<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAnd Noah called to his son, who had withdrawn apart: O my son! Come aboard with us and do not be with the disbelievers!\u201d (Surah Hud, verse 42)<\/p>\n

The Son\u2019s Arrogance and His Fall into the Embrace of the Waves<\/strong><\/p>\n

Canaan, immersed in materialistic thinking, believed worldly means were stronger than God\u2019s decree. With arrogance, he replied to his father:<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe said: I will take refuge on a mountain that will protect me from the water. Noah said: Today there is no protector from the decree of God except for those upon whom He has mercy. Then the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.\u201d (Surah Hud, verse 43)<\/p>\n

The Oppressed Father\u2019s Whisper and the Shocking Divine Truth<\/strong><\/p>\n

The flood subsided, and the earth swallowed its waters. Yet Noah\u2019s heart was still troubled by a profound question, for God had promised before the flood to save his \u201cfamily.\u201d Noah turned to his Lord and said:<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>\u201cAnd Noah called upon his Lord and said: My Lord! Surely my son is of my family, and indeed Your promise is true, and You are the Most Just of judges.\u201d\u00a0 (Surah Hud, verse 45)<\/p>\n

God\u2019s clear and shocking response invalidated all material and racial standards:<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe said: O Noah! Indeed, he is not of your family; indeed, his conduct is unrighteous\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

(Surah Hud, verse 46)<\/p>\n

God clarified that disbelief and rebellion reduce blood ties to ashes, and thus Noah\u2019s son no longer belonged to the family of prophethood. Prophet Noah (peace be upon him), a prophet wholly devoted to monotheism, sacrificed paternal emotion before divine justice and immediately submitted:<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said: My Lord! I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.\u201d<\/p>\n
